Vucic asked about motivating citizens to get vaccinated, and about Croatia’s military camp in Kosovo

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic is today visiting mobile vaccination points in the municipalities of Obrenovac and Ub.

Vucic arrived at the Zvecka location in Obrenovac at 10 am, where he spoke with citizens who were there to get vaccinated. Vucic announced that he would be on the ground starting today in order to motivate citizens to get vaccinated.

“I offered myself as the president, and that was accepted. I am going, and then Ana Brnabic will go to the field in the villages, to urge people to speed up the vaccination,” said Vucic after a meeting of his party SNS Presidency.

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic is today visiting several mobile vaccination points. After Vrelo near Ub, she will visit the one in the village of Jabucje, in the municipality of Lajkovac.

Finally, Prime Minister Brnabic will visit a mobile vaccination point in the village of Rajkovic, Mionica municipality.

“We insist that people get vaccinated because of our health. I spoke with Veselinka from Vukicevici, she came here to get the vaccine, both her son and daughter-in-law have coronavirus. If she didn’t get vaccinated, it’s questionable how she would deal with coronavirus. It’s important that we get vaccinated, if we could vaccinate almost everyone, we could work, live a completely normal life,” Vucic said after his trip to Obrenovac.

He added that in that way we will be able to improve Serbia.

“First of all, we have to get out of coronavirus, to dedicate ourselves to work, life, to do everything that we did not get to do, to progress,” he stressed.

Even if I got Covid, I know I would survive

He said that people do not believe in coronavirus until it happens to them.

“I received two Chinese vaccines (doses), I didn’t even feel it. But today I know, with 95 percent certainty, that even if I got Covid, I would survive. And then I will be able to plan the future with you, the future of Serbia. My mother would not have survived if she had not received the vaccine. This way, she is now thinking about which grandchild she will see and look after,” said Vucic.

The president once again asked citizens to get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and others, and pointed out that he hopes that the queue for vaccination in Obrenovac would be even longer.

3,000-dinar assistance

Speaking about the assistance in the amount of 3,000 dinars to be given to citizens who get vaccinated, he said that the goal is to motivate people in order to save lives.

“We care terribly about getting people vaccinated. Where does the money come from? You know that we have been helping micro, small and medium enterprises. About 5.5 million applied for the 60 euros (state assistance), 800,000 more did that for the previous 100 euros. With these savings, we will pay out those who get vaccinated. This state is behaving in a serious and responsible way,” he pointed out.

About the Croatian military camp in Kosovo

Speaking about the installation of a Croatian military camp in Kosovo, Vucic said that we want good, fair relations with everyone in the region, as far as that is possible.

“These actions are not an expression of respect towards Serbia. I will try to be gentle. You can’t pretend you don’t know what Serbia thinks about Kosovo and Metohija, that we see it as our territory. Why was it necessary for them to take part in this at all? Even if they received an invitation from KFOR, they could have said, ‘Not us, it’s not good for the region that we participate in that’. Unfortunately, they deliberately made such a decision to humiliate Serbia. Okay, we got the message. But, no one else can humiliate you, only you can do it yourself if you do not behave honorably and honestly,” Vucic stressed.

He told the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija not to worry.

“I want to preserve peace, to talk to you about schools, salaries, and not about conflicts. My message is that some new (Croatian Operation) Storm will never happen again, and that is a guarantee. People need to know that. All of them are so strong, the Croats, the Albanians…,” said the president.

Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar and Mayor of Belgrade Dr. Zoran Radojicic accompanied the president today.
